“My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love." (John 3:18)
It’s important for us to let those special people in our life know how much we appreciate their love and faithfulness. It’s easy for human beings to let their love stop with words. Loving words are certainly crucial to a love relationship, but words by themselves are not enough. The Bible says very clearly that we are to love not just by the words we say, but by the deeds of love that we do for others. There is absolutely no limit to the good things that can happen when we decide to let love be the driving force in our life.
God has a commandment for His people, and it's found in John 15:12. Jesus said, "Love each other as I have loved you." Now, that's a tough assignment considering the fact that He loves all of His children unconditionally and completely. But Jesus would not have said this if we didn't have the power to put His love into practice. God is telling us to love others constantly, the way He does, without giving up on them. Love does not disappoint or take hope away, but is devoted to the other person's well-being and happiness. Showing true love and appreciation is a decision to show love and devotion every day without wavering. That's what God wants us to do with others around us, because that will make a difference.
God, give us strength to follow Your command to love and truly live a lifestyle of love.
