Dear Friends,  

In the scriptures, Jesus tells us to go out and make disciples of all nations. We are to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Disciples are to be formed, to become like Christ and to live our lives for the Kingdom of God. A better word to use with disciples is formation. Disciples are formed; it is a lifelong process. Sometimes the word religious education can give some the impression that I learned all about my faith in my youth. I have received all my sacraments, so I have completed what was asked. Formation is an ongoing way of life where no one graduates or completes learning about following Jesus. 

Starting this weekend and for the two following weekends, we will have our Formation staff in the Narthex after all Masses. This weekend, will invite everyone to learn about all about our formation programs and ministries for all ages. For those with children and elementary-aged children, they may sign up for our formation offerings. For middle school and high school youth, we have the Edge and Lifeteen to learn more about what is offered. And for adults, there is information to know what will be offered this year.

WELCOME FR JUDE VERLEY- while Fr. Stephan Bauer is on sabbatical, we have fellow Crosier religious order priest Fr. Jude. who will assist with some 10:30 am Masses during Fr. Stephan’s time away. Fr. Jude is scheduled to join us this Sunday.

LAST SUNDAY’S HOMILY- The reading from St. Paul’s letter to the Romans reminds us that nothing will ever separate us from the love of Christ. God is present to his people in Isaiah chapter 55, inviting a rebellious, unfaithful people to still come and eat and drink and renew the covenant. God wants to know that even when we are lost, he does not leave us.
