Dear Friends,  

Our lighting system upgrade in the church is completed, and now we begin to learn how to use the system to improve the lighting of our sacred space. This is our first project out of a number of projects that will keep our buildings up to par. We will be addressing the AC units, which are on order, the roofs on some of our buildings, a new phone system, among other improvements. Thanks to the generosity of parishioners, we are able to address these important needs. 

We are currently working on preparing our annual Impact Report to send to all parishioners regarding information on our finances, ministry numbers, a report on the past year, and what we are planning for the future. Our parish leadership believes parishioners should have information on our financial situation, and we offer contact information to our Parish Finance Council so that if there are any questions or comments, they may be addressed directly by our finance members.

LAST SUNDAY’S HOMILY- In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus takes his disciples to Caesarea Philippi, a place known for religious and political power. The background Jesus uses is a rock cliff with caves filled with devotions to pagan gods. It was also known as the entrance into the underworld. This is why, when Jesus says the gates of hell will not prevail, this amazes the people, because Jesus says he is more powerful than the forces of evil.
