First Down with Fr. Eric (March 30, 2025)

Posted on: Mar 30, 2025

Dear Friends,

We are familiar with the season of Lent, working on turning away from sin and selfishness and increasing our prayer, so we work on our personal lives. We are reminded that we also work on what is called almsgiving and that the spiritual works we do for ourselves lead us to care for our neighbor.

In our Lent/Easter mailing, we included an envelope for Habitat for Humanity. It’s a great organization that helps people work towards having a house and continuing to live in a neighborhood where they help others. For 25 straight years, St. Patrick has participated in helping build housing/homes with other churches and organizations. We have helped build 50 houses and we are ready to support our 51st build. I am asking parishioners to please consider making Habitat for Humanity one of your almsgiving for Lent/Easter. The goal to build this home is $25,000. Please use the envelope sent to you, or in the Narthex Habitat for Humanity display, or simply contact the Parish Office to learn how to give to this important project.

One of the blessings of giving to this project is that people are empowered to work alongside those who support them, and after the work is completed, they live in a community where they are encouraged to support their neighbors who are also building their houses. Thank you for your willingness to consider this generosity during the Lenten season.
 Peace in Christ,

Fr. Eric
