First Down with Fr. Eric (February 2, 2025)

Posted on: Feb 01, 2025

Dear Friends,

For many years our parish motto has been CHRISTIAN DISCIPLES IN MISSION. This motto reminds us that our faith in Jesus calls us to move forward in our service to others. Our faith is not one of just spectating and watching others do the work. Rather we were reminded by St. Paul a couple of Sundays ago in our reading that we all have different gifts, but our gifts come from the same Spirit.

Our Parish Leadership would like to acknowledge and celebrate the many parishioners who serve others. For those who have stepped forward and served the parish community by belonging or supporting parish ministries. That is so important and necessary in the work of the parish community. The mission of the parish is to serve others in the name of Jesus. We also include all parishioners who serve the greater community at large, as we are sent forth from the Table of the Lord and go out and serve others. Living one’s faith involves community service, organizations that serve others, and our parishioners volunteering in all types of community outreach.

So this coming Saturday, February 8 we invite everyone to RSVP and join us for the 4:30 pm Mass, and after Mass, we will all gather in our patio area in front of the House of Mercy to have dinner and entertainment, and meet other parishioners and guests. Since the Super Bowl is the next day our theme will be football, and we invite everyone to wear their favorite football jersey or shirt. The gathering at the House of Mercy should be around 5:45 pm and there will be plenty of food for everyone. Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 5. We look forward to a great time for everyone.

Peace in Christ,

Fr. Eric
