Everyone’s Welcome Saturday - Costumes Too (Fr. Eric's Huddle Up)
Posted on: Oct 21, 2026
Dear Friends,
Our annual Fall Festival is this Saturday, beginning with our 4:30 pm Mass followed by the Festival on the east side of our campus from 5:30-7:30 pm. We'll have food, entertainment, games, and trunk-or-treat for the kids as we gather with friends and meet new people. That evening's Mass is our Family Mass, so children are welcome and can even dress in their costumes. Our parish staff, parish organizations, and parishioners have done a lot of work to make this a great evening for everyone. Hope to see many of you this Saturday.
LAST SUNDAY’S HOMILY- Our scripture readings from Isaiah chapter 45 and the Gospel of Matthew chapter 22 deal with the relationship between God and political power. King Cyrus was not part of Israel, yet God gives him the title anointed, why? Jesus tells the people to give to Caesar what is his and give to God what is God’s. I break open these readings to help us understand what is God’s intent in dealing with political power is and how it is meant to be used in serving people. Click below to listen to the homily.
SUNNYSLOPE VIKINGS JOINED US FOR MASS ON SUNDAY- We had eight players come to 10:30 am Mass. These players decided on their own to join us, and others plan to in the future but couldn't make it this past Sunday. Not all are Catholic, yet they wanted to be with us and, of course, have some lunch, which they enjoyed. Thanks for making these young men feel welcome at the parish. Go Vikings!
See you this weekend.
Peace in Christ,
Fr. Eric Tellez
